About Paul White, PhD, LMFT
Scotland has a way of drawing people in, not just for its landscapes, but for its deep sense of connection, resilience, and innovation. That same spirit runs through its approach to mental health, where community, collaboration, and forward-thinking care take center stage. It’s an approach that resonates with everything I value in my work: healing as a shared experience, growth as a collective journey, and mental well-being as something we cultivate together.

I’m a trauma-informed therapist with a PhD in Mind-Body Medicine, and for over a decade, I’ve been exploring how systemic therapy, somatic practices, and mind-body integration can help people move beyond insight into profound, embodied change. My background spans clinical work, education, and community-based mental health initiatives, always with the goal of making therapy more practical, dynamic, and genuinely effective.
As I prepare to put down roots in Scotland, I’m not just bringing my expertise... I’m bringing curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to contribute to the rich mental health landscape that is already thriving. My focus isn’t on reinventing the wheel, but on integrating what I do best into the work that’s already making a difference.
That means:

✔ Expanding access to somatic and mind-body therapies in both clinical and community settings.
✔ Working alongside Scottish therapists, educators, and organizations to create workshops, training, and research projects that push the field forward.
✔ Exploring new ways to integrate systemic and embodied approaches into Scotland’s existing mental health services.

Scotland is already at the forefront of progressive, person-centered mental health care, and I’m eager to be part of that movement. Whether you’re in BACP, AFT, NHS mental health services, private practice, or third-sector organizations like SAMH or Penumbra, I’d love to connect.

Let’s build something together.
